Finance Minister Crossley Tatui joined the two days virtual meeting of the Forum Economic Minister which ended on Tuesday August 11th.
The Forum Economic Ministers meeting is a regional meeting of the Ministers of Finance and Economic which first started in 1997.
Minister Tatui said the most important agenda items at the meeting were the socio/economic impacts of COVID 19 pandemic and the on-going threats of climate change and natural disasters.
He said that the presentations from the regional private sector organization PIPSO and from the Civil Society groups were well received by the Ministers and acknowledged the contributions of the local Niue Chamber of Commerce and the NIUANGO by providing their reports on the national situation which he presented to the meeting.
Minister Tatui said that the Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that their deliberations and outcomes contribute towards the development of the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent.
