Niuean musician Glen Jackson has been nominated for a Pacific Music Award in the Category of Best Pacific Gospel Artist.
Glen says he feels very lucky to be nominated in this category.
“Through the process of applications I put forth a couple of tracks and only found out during the livestream from the Pacific Music Awards team which category I was nominated into. So it was very exciting. I’m very happy as well to know that I’ve been nominated is a best thing in itself and I’m very happy to represent Niue on this platform and on the music stage. Of course not just in Aotearoa but on the global stage because we live here in Niue so as soon as we’re part of the awards it’s already an international event.” said Jackson
The date and time for the 2020 Pacific Music Awards is yet to be determined.
He adds the PMA is a great platform to showcase Niue and its culture.
“ I think that’s probably most paramount to why I love what I do and to have the opportunity to be on a platform like Pacific Music Awards and to be nominated is a great opportunity to forecast out to the world about Niue, about our culture and about who we are. Yes I’m a musician and it’s my profession and it’s what I put out there , it’s what I portray but ever since we moved home four years ago this is the thing that has changed for me. I now put the language , I now put Niue and the flag above my profile because I want to represent Niue as much as I can.”
