Tax changes expected across the board

Tax changes are expected across the board in the near future.

Treasury department confirms “the budget 2019-2020 have allowed provisions to cover government’s obligations from the public service, pension and businesses. It is anticipated that the Government intends to broaden its tax base through tax initiatives which will see a benefit across the board. “

Key budget initiatives will be announced by the Government in the near future. 

According to the 2019-2020 budget estimates, the financial year has a total recurrent expenditure of $28,173,000 and recurrent revenue of $28,735,000. 

Discussions and scrutiny of the budget estimates for the financial year 2019 – 2020 are currently being held with the Public Accounts Committee, Treasury and  the respective government departments.
