Bulk fuel is
Governments largest expenditure with a budget allocation of $5,629,000 for the
financial year 2019-2020, a decrease of $856,162 from the previous year.
Justice department/community affairs which administers the pension and benefits has the second largest expenditure budget allocation
of $4,402,000anincrease of $335,579 from the previous financial year
This is followed by
Education with an allocation of $3,052,000 increase of $331,330 and Health
department with an allocation of $2,639,000 increase of $224,146. Both
departments are under the Ministry of Social Services which has the largest
expenditure with $10,477,000.
Cabinet and
Parliamentary services also received an increase in its budget allocation by
$732,105 with $2,204,000 for the 2019 – 2020 financial year.
Finance and planning
has been allocated $1,619,000 an increase of $419,146.
Transport received an
allocation of $1,496,000 increase of $253,442 and the Public Service Commission
has been allocated $1,378,000, increase of $248,412 from previous financial
year.
Total recurrent
expenditure for the 2019-2020 financial year is $28,173,000 while total recurrent
revenue expected to be generated from taxation ($5,612,000) and from the
respective departments is $28,735,000.
The surplus of $562,000 according to Treasury will be used to fund Government’s recurrent capital expenditure of $100,000 and its recurrent investment and development projects $462,000.
