The village of Liku yesterday was blessed with an overcast but
cleared day for all to roam the stalls for brekkie before being
entertained with the village activities and dancing. Some of the
returning Niue residents were amongst the many that flocked to the Liku
showday having returned to celebrate the festive season with the
families on the Rock. The Liku visiting cricket team were also spotted
about. Credit to all vendors with the amazing and fresh food for
sale to accommodate the appetites of the Niueans – with the sell out of
food in the early hours. Produce was weighed and marvelled as with
admiration of the handcrafts with prizes given out. As per usual the
day ended with the village festivities to entertain and for all to
enjoy.
